The designers and artists working on the 3.1-mile Metro light rail extension in Mesa will meet with the public this week during Mesa's 2nd Friday event.
The design team will be available from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at OneOhOne Gallery, 101 W. Main St.
The project will take about 20 months to design, and planners will meet with the public throughout that process. The extension will be built along Main, from Sycamore to Mesa Drive. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2013, with the line opening in 2016.
