Photo radar worker shot; investigation snarls 101

A worker inside a photo radar van was shot Sunday night on the Loop 101 freeway in north Phoenix, according to the Department of Public Safety.

Suspect caught in killing of photo-radar worker

The worker, a contract employe, apparenlty was shot multiple times about 8:30 p.m., near the 7th Avenue exit, DPS said.

The victim was transported to John C. Lincoln Hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to KNXV-TV.

The Loop 101 was shut down in both directions between 7th Avenue and Cave Creek Road while the shooting was being investigated.
