Weekend construction means road closures around Valley

The Grand Avenue intersection at Bethany Home Road in Glendale will be closed July 19-22 for the replacement of traffic signals, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The southbound Loop 101 ramp to eastbound Interstate 10 in the West Valley will be closed at night for pavement improvement work. Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and consider alternate routes while the following restrictions are is in place:

  • Grand Avenue (US 60) closed at Bethany Home Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (July 22) for removal of overhead traffic signal structure. DETOUR: To travel beyond the closure, westbound Grand Avenue traffic can use northbound 43rd Avenue to westbound Northern Avenue. Eastbound Grand Avenue traffic can use southbound 59th Avenue to eastbound Camelback or Indian School roads.
  • Southbound Loop 101 ramp to eastbound Interstate 10 in the West Valley closed overnight from 11 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday (July 20), from 11 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday (July 21) and from 11 p.m. Sunday to 4 a.m. Monday (July 22) for pavement improvement work. DETOUR: Exit southbound Loop 101 to eastbound McDowell Road and go south on 91st Avenue to access I-10.
