Police are looking for two men who tried to carjack a Gilbert woman, then stole her purse Monday morning. The woman was cleaning her windshield at Desert Rose Express, 777 S. Gilbert Road, at 11:10 a.m. when a man demanded her keys.

Unable to start the truck, he fled with her purse. He and the driver of a stolen white Kia sedan with a handicap license plate fled south on Gilbert Road.

The Kia was stolen from the 13000 block of South 46th Place in Phoenix at 10:35 a.m., police said.

The men escaped to the Gila River Indian Reservation, where their vehicle was later found abandoned in a wash.

The robber is described as Hispanic, 19-23 years old, 5-foot-5-inches tall and 160 pounds. He has a clear complexion and speaks clear English, without an accent. He wore a dark cotton hoodie and jeans. The driver is a white man. No further description is available.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Gilbert police at (480) 503-6500.
