Mesa will hold a kickoff meeting for its next Building Strong Neighborhoods Initiative on Oct. 21 to discuss plans for projects to take place between Mesa Drive and Hobson, and from Southern Avenue to U.S. 60.
The city will hold a community service project on Oct. 23 in this neighborhood, where volunteers will paint curbs, clean alleys, paint retention walls and distribute public safety information door-to-door. The city chose this neighborhood because it is planning to improve Mesa Drive by building decorative walls along the road, closing alleys and adding new signs that welcome people to Mesa.
At the kickoff meeting, Mesa will share results of a survey conducted to prioritize issues to be addressed in the area. The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Oct. 21 at Holmes Elementary School, 948 S. Horne. For more information, call (480) 644-5434.
