A Tempe man who was shot during a break-in Tuesday was arrested in connection with a burglary on July 10 and had been charged last month with forgery.

David Reynolds, 22, was dropped off at Banner Desert Hospital with a gunshot wound shortly after a resident in the 1500 block of South River Drive in Tempe reported that he shot at two burglars in his home, Tempe police spokesman Sgt. Mike Horn said Wednesday.

Police are still looking for the second suspect.

Police had arrested Reynolds a week before the shooting with Steven Mosher, 26, and Jaime Sanchez, 27, in connection with a burglary in the 1400 block of South Kenneth Place. Details about their bail were not immediately available.

Mosher and Reynolds were charged last month in Maricopa County Superior Court, accused of trying to pass a $497 forged check at a bank in Mesa in April.
