The Kunnaris lived in a high-rise apartment in Jersey City, N.J. on the Hudson River for a little more than a year and witnessed the second World Trade tower collapse in the wake of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. Their building had subway line underneath of it that ran under the Hudson and to the World Trade towers. The couple often rode it into New York in the morning.
