Allegiant Air said this week it will begin flying twice-weekly nonstop flights between Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport and Wichita, Kan., beginning Nov. 20.

Wichita is the 20th city to be served by Allegiant from Gateway airport.

The airline said it will offer introductory fares as low as $59.99 each way, subject to restrictions.

Flights will take place on Mondays and Fridays, the airline said. Flights will depart Gateway at 8:35 a.m. and arrive in Wichita at 11:45 a.m., local time. Return flights will depart Wichita at 12.25 p.m. and arrive at Gateway at 1:45 p.m., local time.

MD-80 jet aircraft that seat 150 passengers will be used on the route.

Reservations can be made on the airline's Web site at www.allegiantair.com, through the airline's reservations and information center at (702) 505-8888 or through professional travel agents.
