Wal-Mart is seeking 200 people to work at a new store opening in the fall in Tempe, the company said Monday.
To handle applications, the retailer has opened a temporary hiring center at the Maricopa Work Center, 735 N. Gilbert Road, Suite 134, in Gilbert. The center is accepting applications beginning Monday and will continue from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday until the 200 positions are filled, the company said.

The store, which is located at 800 E. Southern Ave., Tempe, has both full- and part-time positions available, said store manager Chris Jescheling. Associates are needed to work in all areas including supervisory positions, he said.
Benefits include health insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, store discount cards, stock purchase program and life insurance.
The majority of new hires will begin work in August to help prepare the store for its grand opening in the fall, Jescheling said.
The 200 Tempe positions are among 22,000 jobs the company plans to create nationwide in 2009.
