The Desert Vista Elementary School PTO has joined forces with Apache Junction's Filly's Roadhouse to raise money to purchase an AED (automatic emergency defibrillator) for the campus. The AED will be installed for children with medical conditions that may require the use of the device, or for any emergency situation. Currently, Desert Vista has a student with a heart condition that may require the use of an AED if the situation should arise. Apache Junction Fire Department will provide installation and free training for teachers and staff.

Filly's, 1615 N. Apache Trail, has held a special 50/50 raffle the past three weekends. Filly's and Desert Vista's PTO hope to have defibrillators installed at every school campus in the district.
