While most of their 9- and 10-year-olds classmates are making preparations to go back to school after summer break, five girls from Queen Creek, San Tan Valley and Chandler have spent the last three weeks in New York, preparing for a chance of a lifetime.

Fresh Faces, a five-member dance group that trains at Club Dance in Mesa, auditioned in Los Angeles for the “America’s Got Talent” national television show. They advanced to the Las Vegas auditions and, from there, were selected by the judges as one of top acts to advance in the competition.

On Tuesday, July 23, the girls will take the stage at Radio City Music Hall to compete on live national television for a chance to win a $1 million prize.

“This time,” said Alexa Moffett, the group’s teacher and choreographer, “it is up to the television audience to vote and determine whether the girls will go on in the competition or not. Four of the 12 acts that perform Tuesday night will make it through.”

Moffett, who has been teaching the girls for the past three years, said through the grueling schedules of rehearsals and the stress of the competition, the girls have maintained professionalism and poise

“I’ve never seen a group of dancers like my girls. It’s been a great experience to work with them.”

She believes the group--made up of Dylynn Jones of Chandler; BrynnRumfallo of San Tan Valley and Jenna Valenzuela, Jaycee Wilkins and Bostyn Brown of Queen Creek—stand out in the competition because, “They are very talented and entertaining.”

Moffett added, “They are very similar dancers,” as far as their technical abilities and showmanship and, “They work well as a team.”

The girls themselves are excited, calling it “a dream come true.”

"I still can't believe we did it. We are going to dance at Radio City Music Hall and millions of people are going to be watching us,” Bostyn said.

“It just shows everyone that dreams really do come true,” Dylynn said.

Jenna echoed those sentiments and reflected the confidence the girls feel in their preparation, saying, "We are going to crush this.”

They are hoping their “hometown crowd” will support them by watching the live show and by casting a vote for Fresh Faces.

The live competition show will air Tuesday, July 23, on NBC. Viewers may vote for their favorite acts that night following the show. Voting methods will be announced during the show.
