Worth the Trip: Prescott Backcountry Tours

You’ve heard of or likely done Sedona’s Pink Jeep Tours, but what about trailblazing over rough terrain and up mountains in a six-wheeled, Austrian-made Pinzgauer?

This tour company (whose owner is a licensed and bonded dealer specializing in parts and service for the fascinating European military vehicles and their off-roading beast of a cousin, the Mercedes Unimog) does just that, taking riders down dirt roads and up bumpy trails to some of the prettiest sites around Prescott.

The Mt. Union tour goes to the top of the tallest mountain in Yavapai County, where views stretch all the way to the San Francisco Peaks in Flagstaff. That and other tours, like to Sugarloaf and Quartz mountains, are available for daytime or sunset departure times. Two-hour adventures start at $45 per person and are available year-round, even in snow. Children and family or group discounts are available. [More on next slide ...]
