Arizona Lutheran at Valley Christian - East Valley Tribune: Home

Arizona Lutheran at Valley Christian

Valley Christian lost its opener but there is certainly reason for optimism. The Trojans hung tough all game before finally succumbing to No. 2 Northwest Christian, 19-13. The offense struggled but should improve now that quarterback Brandon Haagsma has a game of experience as the starter under his belt. The bigger worry will be stopping an Arizona Lutheran offense that was dynamic last weekend. The Eagles scored an unheard of 46 points in the first quarter and cruised to an 81-22 win over Scottsdale Christian. Three running backs totaled 90 yards or more in the contest and the team averaged more than 12 yards per carry. Valley Christian is improved from a season ago but faces a tough test for a second straight week to open the year.

Prediction: Arizona Lutheran 41, Valley Christian 24
