Monday’s monsoon may be long gone, but some parts of the Valley are still dealing with the damage it caused, including Rawhide Western Town & Steakhouse.
The Chandler attraction obtained significant damage in the July 15 storm, and it will close for the remainder of July and the month of August, according to a release sent out by Rawhide.
The town's staff is currently assessing the damage and cleaning up. A re-opening date is not yet available.
Rawhide was scheduled for a short seasonal closure during August, but the monsoon's effects accelerated the shuttering of the town's doors, according to an employee who spoke to the Tribune over the phone from the steakhouse.
No guests and very few staff were in the park when it was swept by high winds. All staff and animals made it through the storm safely.
