It looks like Mesa’s Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre will re-open after all. A new season full of shows has been planned, according to an email sent to Get Out by Linda Cobb, former director of marketing and public relations at the theater.
The season will include the musicals “Fiddler on the Roof” and “South Pacific” on the theater’s main stage and the comedies “Caught in the Net,” “Dixie Swim Club” and “Social Security” in its Marquee Room. Dates for the shows have not yet been made public.
According to postings on its Facebook page, the theater will also resume Children’s Theatre shows, but productions and dates will be announced later.
Broadway Palm will be hold open auditions for adult actors 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 1 at the theater, 5247 E. Brown Road.
Actors are asked to come prepared with a current head shot, resume, 16 bars of music (along with legible sheet music in your key) and a brief monologue. An accompanist will be provided. All roles are paid positions.
