There may be a glimmer of hope yet for the old Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre in Mesa.

The shuttered space, which was most recently home to the now-closed Silver Star Playhouse, may re-open, according to an Aug. 14 post on the theater's Facebook page.

Theater owner Tom Prather will meet with local actors 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, at the Broadway Palm, which is on the southeast corner of Brown and Higley roads.

"This is NOT an audition, but a great opportunity to meet the owner and let him know of your interest in performing for Broadway Palm. Auditions will be scheduled at a later time," reads the post.

Actors are welcome to drop in during event; no appointment is necessary. Those who are not able to make it in person may email Prather at tommyp37@aol.com to express interest.

Staff will not answer phones at the theater, but they are fielding questions on Facebook.
