Know someone who works tirelessly to support Arizona’s arts and culture? You could put them in the running for a big award.

The 2013 Governor’s Arts Awards program is accepting nominations until 5 p.m. Dec. 14.

Nominees must be either a resident of Arizona, a business operating in the state, or a school or community organization that benefits the state. The awards recognize the philanthropy and efforts of those who contribute to the diversity and excellence of Arizona’s arts and cultural community

Winners will be honored March 6, 2013, at Herberger Theater Center in Phoenix.

2012 winners included Colleen Jennings-Roggensack, executive director for ASU Gammage, Beth Lessard, a longtime matriarch of the East Valley dance scene, and Ed Mell, an artist whose painting of Sedona’s Cathedral Rock is on the first-class “Forever” stamp commemorating Arizona’s centennial.
