Our thoughts are turning to Fall getaways — you know, little weekend jaunts to Arizona’s prettiest places once cooler weather sets in.
As we daydream about throwing the camping gear in the truck, we’re having fun exploring destinations on the brand-new Recreation & Cultural Sites Map on The Arizona Experience website. The map has been in print for years, but this is the first time it’s available as an interactive tool online. It shows you where you can boat, fish, raft, canoe, swim, hike, bike, camp, take in mountain vistas or wildlife, find cultural and historical locations, and ride equestrian trails.
The online map can be viewed at ArizonaExperience.org.
A printed version of the Recreation & Cultural Sites map is still available at the more than 60 state Visitor Information Centers. It can also be picked up at state parks, national parks, and at BLM, U.S. Forest and AZ Game and Fish sites across Arizona. Printed maps are also available from the Arizona Office of Tourism.
