Cork Boat Race

Heat your glue guns and rip open that Ziploc bag full of wine corks you’ve been saving: Page Springs Cellars hosts its fourth annual Cork Boat Race on June 29, when homemade vessels will be put to the test on the waters of Oak Creek.

Kids and pets are invited for the event, which includes splashing in the stream, food and music. Prizes abound for winning boats on and off the water, and spoils include winery goodies, event tickets and 1-year wine club memberships (valued at more than $700).

If you’re racing a boat, get there early; registration is at 9 a.m. Racers may park on site, but spectators should park at the Page Springs Fish Hatchery, which is adjacent to the winery, and take a free shuttle to the event.

DETAILS >> 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 29. Page Springs Cellars, 1500 N. Page Springs Road. $30 for adults and $10 for kids, includes food and drink. $25 to race your homemade boat. (928) 639-3004 or

After Dark in the Park
