Summer's officially over, but you've still got a few hours to squeeze in one last quintessential Valley summertime experience: riding the Lower Salt River in a black inner tube.
Salt River Tubing will close Sept. 30, making this your last weekend to take a floating picnic on the scenic East Valley river until next season.
Tube rentals are available 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sept. 28-30 at Salt River Tubing, 9200 N. Bush Highway, Mesa. The cost is $15 per person, cash only, and includes an inner tube and shuttle service. Children must be at least 8 years old and four feet tall to participate.
