This time of year, we rack up chances to get outside as if we’re keeping score; we know we’ll be dying for such opportunities come summertime.

One easy way to soak up the mild weather: the Sonoran Sunset Series at Chandler’s Veterans Oasis Park.

The monthly evenings of free entertainment at the park’s lakeside amphitheatre are low-key, with snacks, dinner items and beverages available for purchase, or you can bring your own.

The Feb. 21 concert will feature the acoustic, indie rock music of Dry River Yacht Club, a local band that says it compares stylistically to artists like Sufjan Stevens, St. Vincent and the Dresden Dolls, and vocally to Zooey Deschanel, Bjork and Ani DiFranco.

The March 21 Sonoran Sunset concert will feature The Knockabouts, a band with a rousing Irish sound.

Concerts start at 6 p.m. and last one hour. Veterans Oasis Park is at 4050 E. Chandler Heights Road. In cases of inclement weather, performances are held inside the park’s Environmental Education Center.
