Street Eats Food Truck Festival rolls into Scottsdale

Why quibble about where to eat this weekend when you’ll have 50 food trucks to choose from at Salt River Fields? Food Network Iron Chef Geoffrey Zakarian will give a cooking demo beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday. Adam Richman, of The Travel Channel’s “Man vs. Food” will take the stage with local chef Aaron May at noon Sunday. Five themed bars will be stationed throughout the grounds, with live music from School of Rock. There will also be a Kids Zone.

Pima Road, Scottsdale. $10 general admission for adults, free for children 12 and younger; VIP tickets, which include celebrity chef Q&A sessions, light appetizers, $20 in food tickets, six alcoholic drinks, unlimited soda and water, and access to a VIP tent, are $60; Un-Wine-d Lounge tickets, which include wine and food pairings, are $35. www.saltriverfields.com.

    It is an important factor to remember. It helps explain why the Chinese are rather more confident about their power, influence and place in the world economy than some expect them to be.
