The kids may grumble when you make them turn off Nickelodeon, but they can’t argue when the network itself kicks them out from in front of the TV. The children’s channel will go “dark” for three hours Oct. 6 for Worldwide Day of Play, and Children’s Museum of Phoenix is stepping in to fill the void.
The museum will offer $6 admission 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6. Admission to the museum is normally $11 per person.
Special activities include a “Tactile Drawing” activity going on 10 a.m. to noon and a “Leaf Man” collage based on the book “Leaf Man,” by Lois Ehlert.
Nickelodeon temporarily suspends its programming on Worldwide Day of Play to encourage youngsters to get up and get active. Children’s Museum of Phoenix is at 215 N. Seventh St. in Phoenix. For information, call (602) 253-0501 or visit ChildrensMuseumOfPhoenix.org.
