Give some people an occasional hot dog at a ball game or backyard cookout, and they're not particularly wowed. But for those who truly appreciate a frank pillowed in bread, this is news worth relishing:
The Wienermobile - Oscar Mayer lunch meat brand's vehicle shaped like a hot dog on a bun - is coming to the East Valley.
See it 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, at Bashas', 4940 S. Gilbert Road, Chandler; 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 23, at Bashas', 99 S. Higley Road, Gilbert; and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 25, at Bashas', 23760 S. Power Road, Queen Creek.
At each event, Wienermobile "pilots" Theresa Brenner and Jessica Barndt will host games, give guests a peek inside the famous vehicle, and hand out "Wiener Whistles."
Brenner and Barndt are two of 12 "Hotdoggers" currently touring America in six Wienermobiles. They were selected from more than 1,200 applicants to spend one year driving the vehicles across the country.
