If your favorite stores are on Etsy.com, the weekend's Big Heap Festival could be your chance to finally get to shop the kind of places you dig in person.
The three-day Cave Creek event brings together about 70 "indie" artists, crafters and other creatives, who will offer wares that run the gamut from handmade, vintage and industrial to salvaged, architectural and even edible.
Aaron Voigt, a 2012 Best in Show winner at the Tempe Festival of the Arts, will construct a robot from salvaged and re-purposed materials on site.
The Big Heap Festival is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 19-20 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 21 at 38410 N. School House Road in Cave Creek. Admission is $5. Children 12 and younger get in free. For information, go to TheBigHeap.com.
