Amid the charming, unexpected and independently owned shops in downtown Mesa is Twisted Sisters Designs, a jewelry studio and gallery that’s throwing open its doors to youngsters on July 17.

The shop, at 48 S. Robson, is the site of Downtown Mesa Association’s next “Kidtastic” event, a series of inexpensive summer activities taking place 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays at different venues throughout the district.

Geared toward children ages 6-11, the July 17 event is limited to eight kids, though another session may be added if demand calls for it. Registration is required in advance by emailing

Kids will get to make jewelry at the event. Kits cost $5.
