Hop to it: 5 free Easter egg hunts in the East Valley

Easter is this coming Sunday, April 20, and there are tons of Easter egg hunts happening all over the East Valley all weekend. These five hunts have free admission, but some do have parking or additional activity fees.

Chandler’s Family Easter Celebration

Join the annual Easter Celebration in Chandler for egg hunts, performances, information booths, coloring contests and more. Egg Hunts are by age group ranging from 0-9.

When: 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 19

Where: Snedigar Sportsplex, 4705 S. Basha Road, Chandler

Cost: Free (Some additional food and activities have a fee.)

AZ Food Allergy Alliance’s Easter Egg Hunt

Children can hunt for plastic eggs filled with non-food prizes. Bring your camera to snap a picture with the Easter Bunny at AFAA’s third annual Easter Egg Hunt. There will also be a face painter and a bouncy house.

When: 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 19

Where: 1000 N. College Ave., Tempe (They will be at the ballfield north of the park; parking is adjacent to the ballfield off Curry Road.)

Cost: Free (Just bring your own bag or basket.)

Apache Junction’s Easter Egg Hunt

Help find more than 5,200 prize filled eggs. This egg hunt is open to all ages and is free to the public. There will be other activities and games available. Egg Hunts are by age group ranging from 0-16.

When: Saturday, April 19. Egg Hunts begin at 9 a.m. (Breakfast at 7:30am)

Where: Prospector Park Softball Complex, 3015 N. Idaho Road, Apache Junction

Cost: Free hunt, petting zoo, bounce houses and train rides (Breakfast available for a donation and fees for other activities.)

Rawhide’s Easter Egg-Stravaganza

Rawhide’s annual event will have a variety of activities, from an Easter egg hunt, candy corral, duck walk, rides, a visit from “Cowboy Cottontail” and more. There will be two hunts per age group beginning at noon. Egg hunts are by age group ranging from 0-12.

When: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 20

Where: Rawhide Western Town and Steakhouse, 5700 W. North Loop Road, Chandler

Cost: Free (There is a $5 charge for parking, and other activities have charges.)

Easter Egg Hunt in Chandler

A huge Easter egg hunt (6,000+ eggs) and plenty of prizes, too. There will be multiple egg hunts for children 3 and older, plus a “Tiny Tots Easter Area” for preschoolers. There will also be a free breakfast and an outdoor service at 10 a.m.

When: 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Sunday, April 20

Where: Tumbleweed Park, 745 E. Germann Road, Chandler
