Leftovers are the best part of Thanksgiving. The next best thing are the Christmas light displays that pop up as soon as the last piece of pie is gobbled down. Here are seven local light displays worth a look.

Fantasy of Lights Parade

Get in the Christmas spirit amid the glittering lights of the Mill Avenue District as the 19th annual parade celebrates “Santa’s Workshop.”

Mesa Temple Garden Lights

Enjoy a Christmas lights display and music at the LDS temple in Mesa.

Gilbert’s Holiday Nights of Lights

A fun-filled event for the whole family features food vendors, music and entertainment by various community and school groups, along with the annual Christmas tree lighting and a special appearance by Santa Claus.

Queen Creek Holiday Festival and Parade

Enjoy this annual community parade followed by crafts, vendors, live local entertainment, activities and photos with Santa.

Chandler’s Tumbleweed Tree Lighting Ceremony and Parade of Lights

This community festival includes the lighting of what some call Arizona’s most unique Christmas tree, made of up to 2,000 tumbleweeds painted and doused in glitter, plus a parade and lots of local, live entertainment.

Apache Junction Holiday Program and Light Parade

This all-day event includes a Walk-a-Thon, snow for the kids to play in, a visit from Santa, vendor booths and a parade of lights to cap the festivities.

Fantasy of Lights Boat Parade

Head to Tempe Beach Park where you can meander along paths lit by luminaria before lining up along the lake to watch more than 50 decorated boats stream by. There will also be a Radio Disney stage with live entertainment, free photos with Santa and a fireworks finale.
