No self-respecting bucket list is complete without a live look at this oddity: jockeys aboard galloping camels and ostriches.

The fast but stubborn dromedaries and land-birds will race Saturday, March 23, at Turf Paradise, typically home to more traditional horse races.

That day, visitors to the track will find live horse racing, as well as pony rides, face painting and live music.

Grandstand admission is $2; anyone younger than 16 gets in free.

Turf Paradise is at 1501 W. Bell Road in Phoenix. For more, call (602) 942-1101 or visit TurfParadise.com.
