Architect Paolo Soleri passed away in early April. Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art is honoring his life with an exhibition of his work.

Soleri was born in Italy, but spent most of his life in Arizona, living in Scottsdale, designing projects for local municipalities and lecturing at Arizona State University. The exhibit features Soleri’s sketches of designs for Mesa City, as well as his designs of Arcosanti, an experimental city in Mayer, Ariz. Visitors will be able to view Soleri’s designs in their original form, as well as through video and iPad formats.

The exhibition is on display through April 28, with the museum offering free admission on the 28th. The museum is open from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday and noon to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Admission costs $5-$7, but is free on Thursdays and from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. The museum is located at 7374 E. Second St. in Scottsdale. For more information, call (480) 874-4666 or visit www.smoca.org.
