After all the submarine sandwiches we’ve downed over the years, we think we’re a pretty good judge of a winning sandwich. But we’ve got nothing on the judges who will be evaluating everything, from the visual appeal to the correct number of olives, on the sandwiches at Subway Restaurants of Arizona’s annual statewide Subjammers contest on Saturday, June 8.
Florence “sandwich artist” Sal Rodriguez will defend his title at the lively, music-filled competition, which lets top Subway sandwich employees across the state compete to make the fastest, most accurate sandwiches for prizes and bragging rights.
Winners from this contest will be sent on an all-expense paid trip to the national competition in Orlando, where best sandwich makers in the country will battle it out for prizes.
You can see Rodriguez and other contestants at work 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. June 8 at the Subway inside Arizona Mills, 5000 Arizona Mills Circle, Tempe.
