Chandler is in for a double-dose of hot dogs, at least those of the Pittsburgh Willy variety. The East Valley eatery located in the Arizona Avenue Merchant Square Antique Mall is expanding its influence by opening a location in downtown Chandler — a little house just steps away from San Tan Brewery.
After a few updates and some remodeling, the new restaurant is scheduled to open in September and will serve the same line-up of hot dogs available in the Antique Mall. The sandwiches and pierogies will not be served initially, but may be added to the menu at a later date.
Owner Randy Walter told the Tribune earlier this year that he has a large downtown Chandler following and is confident that he’ll be able to sustain both locations. “My intent now is to stay open 'til 2-3 a.m. to catch the after bar crowd,” he said.
