It’s honored in songs, thrown back in barroom movie scenes, and mixed into fruity frozen cocktails as the weather heats up — and now you can pay homage to the Southwest’s favorite liquor on National Tequila Day.
TQLA, the Mesa restaurant with tequila on tap, will celebrate July 24 with margarita classes, where anyone can stop by and learn how to perfect the popular drink.
“Tequila ambassadors” will also be there to explain the history and significance of tequila, and the restaurant is offering a slew of discounts, most notably $5 off all tequila flights and $2 tequila tap shots.
“TQLA takes great pride in only serving 100-percent Blue Weber Agave tequilas, which means no artificial colors or flavorings found in a typical gold or ‘mixto’ tequila,” said Scott Lindsey, the restaurants “tequilier,” or tequila expert.
TQLA is located in the Dana Park Shopping Center at 1840 S. Val Vista Drive in Mesa. For information, call (480) 813-8752 or go to www.tqla.com.
