Brunches and dinners abound for Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is coming up Sunday, May 11. We’ve put together a list of things to do for Mother’s Day in Phoenix that will make any mom feel like a queen. Reservations are recommend for most of the brunches and dinners.

El Chorro

Let Mom take in the beautiful views of Camelback and Mummy Mountains at El Chorro. The brunch buffet will feature dishes like Niman Ranch pork loin, chicken tenders, New York strip loin, and various salads. There will also be a breakfast station that will be serving crème brulee French toast, sticky buns, applewood smoked bacon, eggs benedict and eggs continental.

El Chorro will also be offering a three-course prix fixe dinner menu with a choice of center cut filet, trout almondine, lavender roasted Cornish game hen, or jumbo shrimp cobb salad.

DETAILS >> Brunch: 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., dinner: 5 p.m. to close. 5550 E. Lincoln Drive, Paradise Valley. Brunch is $55 per adult, $18 per child ages 5-12. Children four and under are free. Dinner is $43 per adult. Children’s menu available for ages 12 and younger.

Hilton Phoenix/Mesa

Each mother will receive a free rose upon arrival. Reservations required.

DETAILS >> 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. 1011 W. Holmes Ave., Mesa. $34.95 for adults, kids 5 and younger will eat for free with the purchase of two adult brunches.

Talavera

The Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North is offering Mother’s Day brunch in Talavera restaurant, boasting dramatic views and some of the best patio dining in the Valley. Guests can savor “Flavors from the Sea,” inclusive of shrimp cocktail, oysters on the half shell, and smoked salmon. Specialty items from the carving station include slow-roasted prime rib and poached Alaskan halibut, along with honey glazed ham. An omelet station, cheese and charcuterie selection, and dessert offerings round out the menu.

The resort will also host a complimentary Mother’s Day carnival from 10 a.m. to noon.

DETAILS >>1O a.m. to 7 p.m. 10600 E. Crescent Moon Drive, Scottsdale. $87 per person, and $43 for children ages 5 to 12. Guests may add a Bellini or Bloody Mary for an additional $10.

The Farm at South Mountain

Enjoy a wonderful brunch under the canopy in the grove. The menu features omelet stations, pecan French toast, grilled herb chicken, a sweets table and more, plus a special treat for mom. The last seating is at 11:30 a.m.

District American Kitchen and Wine Bar

They will be serving up dishes like burgundy-braised short ribs, hand-carved pork loin, rooftop herbed chicken breast, brioche French toast, and an omelet station. There will also be yogurt parfait, fruit, salad, and endless champagne. Top it all off with various desserts that will be made from pastry chef Winnona Herr.

House of Tricks

Treat Mom to a special brunch on the beautiful patio or the indoor dining room at House of Tricks. They will be featuring a three-course meal for adults and kids. Items include cantaloupe gazpacho, smoked pork tenderloin eggs benedict with cheddar biscuits, banana bread French toast and a selection of delicious desserts.

ZuZu at the Hotel Valley Ho

Enjoy brunch this Mother’s Day inside or out on the shaded patio at ZuZu. You can order a la carte off the regular brunch menu or choose the smoked salmon quiche, asparagus, and shiitake mushroom dish — the special of the day. Mom can also build her own custom drink at the Bloody Mary Bar for $5.

English Rose Tea Room

Give mom a day of relaxation and fun at English Rose Tea Room. She will be able to enjoy creamy mushroom soup, petite salad with mixed berries and candied pecans, tea sandwiches, roasted chicken, smoked salmon, an assortment of desserts and truffles, and of course, Mother’s Day rose-scented tea.

Mamapalooza at the Saturday Open Air Market

The Phoenix Public Market hosts a day of family-oriented fun, including live music and kids’ activities, at the open air market the day before Mother’s Day. They’ll be serving up mimosas and bloody marys from the Café, and you can make a bouquet for mom with local flowers from Maya’s Farm. There will be special vendors for this market who will offer items that make great gifts including skin care products, jewelry, and more.
