Paul O’Neill is the owner of O’Neill’s Place, 2855 N. Power Road, Mesa, (480) 832-8989 or on Facebook.

Q: Where do you and your family like to eat out?

A: There’s a new restaurant in our shopping center called Pacino’s. I got to try that out for their Friends and Family Night — you know, a bunch of samples — and it was pretty good.

La Famiglia (Pizza and Pasta) — it’s a pizza restaurant in Chandler. We’ve been going there about eight years, and if I want pizza, I go to La Famiglia.

I also go to a place called Buono’s (Pizza), which is at Guadalupe and Dobson (in Mesa). They’re more pizza, whereas La Famiglia is pizza and Italian food.

Alessia’s (Ristorante Italiano in Mesa) — I go there, too.

Q: La Famiglia is a bit of a trek from northeast Mesa for pizza. Why do you do it?

A: I’m from New York, and it’s the closest to authentic New York pizza that I can find.

Q: What would you tell someone is an absolute must-order at La Famiglia?

A: I’m a big fan of the lasagna and the pizza — any pizza. The kids will normally get cheese.

Q: So, it sounds like you’re big on Italian food?

A: I’m a fan. It’s hard to find good Italian out here. I miss bagels, Italian food and Chinese food.
