It’s not every day an ordinary person gets to dribble, pass and shoot baskets where NBA stars play basketball. The Phoenix Suns will give regular Joes that chance on Friday.

At the Suns’ “Operation Orange Shoot-Around,” you’ll get to shoot hoops on the court at U.S. Airways Center. Assistant coach Dan Majerle will be there from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., while Suns alumni Mark West and Tim Kempton will act as emcees throughout the evening.

Participants of all ages may also join 3-point contests and basketball skills competitions on the Suns’ practice court. Prizes will be awarded for each age group, and the Suns Dancers, Verve Sol Patrol and Solar Squad will interact with fans.

The youngest fans will find a kids’ area with basketball activities and an inflatable slide, and the APS Gorilla Greenhouse will be open for play time.

The “Shoot-Around” is free, and an adult must accompany all participants younger than 18.
