Maybe it’s for the best that it’s the last weekend of the Arizona Renaissance Festival: Imagine how uncomfortable it must be for the lords and ladies to walk around in all that velvet as the temperatures creep up.
So revel in the sights and sounds while you can, like these East Valley residents that Tribune photographer Jennifer Grimes captured last weekend.
Because for the rest of the year, people will look at you funny if you show up wearing a toque, and throwing tomatoes at people is a misdemeanor.
The Arizona Renaissance Festival and Artisans Marketplace is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Cost at the gate: $20 adults, $17 seniors, $8 children 5-12. For maps, driving instructions, galleries and related stories, log onto the Tribune events page at www.getoutaz.com/renfest.
Each week, InFocus captures a slice of life in the East Valley through the lens of Tribune photographers. The events and activities will be entertaining and something we can all relate to — or enjoy.
