One simply cannot survive the holidays on a steady diet of feel-good Frank Capra flicks and holly-jolly Burl Ives tunes — it would result in the pop culture equivalent of type II diabetes.

One simply cannot survive the holidays on a steady diet of feel-good Frank Capra flicks and holly-jolly Burl Ives tunes — it would result in the pop culture equivalent of type II diabetes. For something a little less sweet, try Steven Dietz’s stage version of “Bram Stoker’s Dracula,” an old-fashioned shock-theater performance in which the fanged fiend’s appetite for fear — not blood — fuels his reign of terror. That’ll restore your holiday insulin levels back to normal.

>> “Bram Stoker’s Dracula” will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Dec. 4-6, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7 at Mesa Community College, 1833 W. Southern Ave. Tickets are $8 to $12. Call (480) 461-7170 for more information, or click here.
