MAPLETON, Utah - A fire broke out in Mormon filmmaker Richard Dutcher's newly remodeled offices, causing about $200,000 in damage.

Dutcher, whose films include "God's Army," "States of Grace" and "Brigham City," had moved his Main Street Movie Co. into the offices less than two weeks ago. The company was previously headquartered in Provo.

Among the lost items were copies of "God's Army" and "States of Grace" and material from current projects. But Dutcher said that except for elements of his first film, "Girl Crazy," it appears that most of what was burned can be replaced from digital copies.

There were "a lot of things that just meant a lot to me personally, like signed posters from cast members," Dutcher said.

Assistant Fire Chief Derald Olsen said the fire likely started from spontaneous combustion in a pile of rags that had been used to apply linseed oil to the woodwork on the ceiling.
