More than 50 breweries from around the world — and right here in Arizona — will pour more than 200 varieties of beer Saturday at the Great Arizona Beer Festival.
The annual event is a chance to sample craft beers and microbrews, from Dogfish Head Brewery’s Chicory Stout to Maui Brewing’s Coconut Porter.
Admission to the outdoor party — which is strictly 21 and older, no exceptions — includes 24 samples of beer, served in a 3-ounce souvenir mug that’s yours to keep.
There’s also live music, food vendors, games, contests and giveaways. Last pour of the day is at 5:45 p.m.
Tickets — including discounted ones for designated drivers — are available online through midnight and at five locations in Tempe and Mesa (Find them online at www.azbeer.com/tempe.). You can also get tickets Saturday at the gate.
The festival is a fundraiser for Sun Sounds of Arizona, a reading and information nonprofit that serves nearly 50,000 Arizonans who are blind or otherwise print-disabled.
