With a name like Canteen Modern Tequila Bar, you better know your tequila. And at this trendy spot on Mill Avenue, they certainly do. The Serrano Mango Margarita, which earned the East Valley Tribune’s 2011 Best of East Valley Best Margarita award, is infused with blue agave blanco tequila, serrano peppers, mango juice, fresh-squeezed lime juice and a half-salted rim.
If spicy isn’t your thing, there are plenty of other options on the menu, including the organic Paloma margarita.

Z’Tejas may be known for its Southwestern food, but you know the margaritas are great when there’s a limit: two per customer in this case.
The $7.75 Frozen Chambord swirls black raspberry liqueur into a slushy concoction made potent by Sauza Gold tequila. It’s so well liked, the Internet teems with rip-off recipes. The Chambord also comes in a sample-sized serving; Z’s margarita flight includes three mini margaritas. You pick the flavors.

That feeling you get when you see both real sangria and a tasty margarita on a menu and can’t decide? It’s a thing of the past at Si Señor, where both are blended into one beverage. The drink ($9.75) mixes two shots of Sauza gold tequila with real sangria. The family owned restaurant also offers 13 other margaritas, including the Corazon — a mixture of peach liqueur, sweet and sour, and a splash of Chambord.
