The mother of Valley motor shows — the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction — kicks off Sunday at WestWorld of Scottsdale.
Opening day, dubbed “Family Value Day” and benefitting Cox Charities, features the jaw-dropping automobiles that draw about 250,000 visitors annually to Barrett-Jackson. About 1,000 of them will cross the auction block throughout the week, and 39 hours of bidding will be broadcast on the Speed channel. There are also vendors, displays and demos to oogle.
New in 2012 is the Lifestyle Pavilion, a separately ticketed event staging area that will feature lifestyle, charity, fashion, music and culinary events.
Today, it offers an “Arizona’s Got Talent” show, a performance by Arizona School of Classical Ballet, a kids’ fashion show, food samples and appearances by Arizona pro sports team mascots.
