Area organizations are holding Holy Week and Easter events:

MESA

Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 1763 N. Gilbert Road, will have Good Friday services at 6 p.m. March 21; an Easter sunrise service on the lawn at 6 a.m., followed at 7:30 a.m. by a continental breakfast; and Easter Sunday services at 10:30 a.m. (480) 969-4023 or office@immanuelpca.org.

PEORIA

Christ’s Church of the Valley, 7007 W. Happy Valley Road, will have Good Friday services with Communion at 7 p.m. March 21. Four Easter services are planned: 4:30 p.m. and 6:16 p.m. March 22 and 9:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. March 23 on the theme “The Greatest Comeback.” An Easter sunrise service will be 6 a.m. on the terrace outside the worship center. QUEEN CREEK

San Tan Christian Center, 22636 S. Ellsworth Road, will sponsor a community Easter egg hunt 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Easter Sunday at Founders Park, 22407 S. Ellsworth Road. Besides wrapped candy and eggs filled with prizes, there will be a bounce house, games, activities, drawings and prizes. (480) 987-3391 or www.santancc.com.

TEMPE

Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 1035 E. Guadalupe Road, has announced its Holy Week schedule. Palms Sunday services will be held at 8 a.m., with traditional worship and Holy Communion; 9:30 a.m. with worship, study and Holy Communion; and 10:50 a.m. with contemporary worship with Holy Communion. A Good Friday Tenebrae worship will be held at 7 p.m. March 21. Easter sunrise worship will be at 6 a.m. in the Garden of Gethsemane; Easter breakfast, served by youth in the Fellowship Hall, 6 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.; and three services in the Gethsemane Community Center: traditional worship at 8 a.m.; worship and study at 9:30 a.m.; and contemporary worship at 10:50 a.m. (480) 839-0906.

University Presbyterian Church, 139 E. Alameda Drive, will have Palm Sunday services at 9:30 a.m. March 16, with a procession of palms. There will be 30-minute morning prayer services with homilies at 7 a.m. daily during Holy Week, March 17-21, in the sanctuary, with refreshments following. Maundy Thursday services will be 7 p.m. March 20. Easter Sunday services are 9:30 a.m. and an Easter egg hunt for children afterward. (480) 966-6267.

Kiwanis Club of Tempe is sponsoring a community Easter egg hunt for children age 10 and under 10:30 a.m. March 22 on the soccer fields of Kiwanis Park, 6111 N. All American Way. Admission is free. (480) 966-6648.
