A talk with saxophonist and Northwestern University Director of Jazz Studies Victor Goines, hosted by KJZZ radio personality Blaise Lantana, precedes the orchestra’s show at 6:45 p.m. Thursday.

>> The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis plays at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Mesa Arts Center, 1 E. Main St. $46-$66. (480) 644-6500 or mesaartscenter.com.
