Meet Diablo, a 6-foot-long anaconda living inside a work of art. The snake is among the attractions at ASU Art Museum’s First Saturday for Families — a free way to get a little kid-friendly exposure to the arts.
At noon, Diablo’s handler from the Phoenix Herpetological Society will teach kids about the snake and feed him lunch. Diablo is temporarily helping out with “Anaconda Map of Chile,” a 1973 work that’s part of the three-gallery show “Juan Downey: The Invisible Architect.”
In addition to touring the exhibitions and joining dance activities, children and their families will get to decorate a wooden snake to take home.
