Grab a blanket and a pair of binoculars, and come out to learn a little something about the night sky under the light of a nearly full moon.

Longtime Valley astronomy duo Tony and Carole La Conte, of Stargazing for Everyone, will lead an outdoor presentation Saturday in the picturesque setting of Usery Mountain Regional Park.

The couple will teach star names, point out constellations, and share sky lore. They’ll also help you spot the moon, planets, star clusters, nebula, galaxies and other objects through their telescopes.

Folding chairs, digital cameras and thermoses full of hot cocoa are welcome. Pets should be left at home.

DETAILS >> 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Usery Mountain Regional Park, 3939 N. Usery Pass Road, Mesa. $6-per-vehicle park entry fee. (480) 984-0032 or www.maricopa.gov/parks/usery.
