Four-month-old Tempe Marketplace continues to add restaurants at a brisk pace. Following on the heels of last month’s openings of Cadillac Ranch, Slices and Salad Creations, two more places will open March 24.
The first is Maria Maria, a classy Mexican restaurant from legendary musician Carlos Santana, who recently opened his first restaurant in Walnut Creek, Calif.
Maria Maria’s menu promises to showcase “the complexity of Mexico’s diverse regions.” Entrees are priced from $13 to $21.
The bar menu features 33 wines by the bottle or glass and 28 high-quality tequilas, including a snifter of Herradura Seleccion Suprema for $60. Information: www.mariamariarestaurants.com.
The other Marketplace newcomer is Canada-based The Keg Steakhouse & Bar, which will open its third East Valley location.
The menu features steaks, prime rib and seafood. Information: www.kegsteakhouse.com.

PITA JUNGLE OPENS NEAR FIESTA MALL
More than six months after Pita Jungle’s name first appeared on an empty building near Fiesta Mall in Mesa, the Valley-based Mediterranean restaurant finally has opened its fourth East Valley location.
The Mesa restaurant, 1850 W. Southern Ave., offers the same delicious pitas, vegetable burgers and wood-fired pizzas as other Pita Jungles in Tempe, Chandler and Scottsdale.
A Gilbert location is scheduled to open by summer.

NOZZLEHEADS GRILL CLOSES IN CHANDLER
Nozzleheads, a firehouse-themed pub and grill that was opened by a pair of Chandler firefighters in December 2005, has closed its doors.
The restaurant, on the northwest corner of Gilbert and Chandler Heights roads in south Chandler, has a “For Sale” sign in the window.
