It’s been a great year for "On the Go With Terri O," but things are about to get even better. In our first show of 2004, you’ll learn more about one of the biggest trends in outdoor decor: Fountains.

Did you know when it comes to fountains, size does matter?

According to Eugene at Southwest Garden Arts in Mesa, you need to know two things before buying a water fountain: 1) Where is it going? and 2) How loud do you want it to be?

Some people buy fountains because the sound is soothing. Others buy them to drown out traffic or other noises.

Once you know the purpose, you need to know where you are going to put it. Do you want it to be a wall fountain or a fountain that sits in the corner? Do you want it indoors or out?

Make sure to keep it away from trees and shedding bushes. That clogs your fountain pump and makes it difficult to keep clean.

At Southwest Garden Arts, 8213 E. Main St., you can see and hear the water features, because the shop has more than 300 on display.

The shop is open seven days a week. Be sure to tell them Terri O sent you.

Also on tomorrow’s show: Meet the Garage Guy. He’ll show us the difference in a cheap garage door versus a good one.

You’ll also learn about a new place to find cool eyewear and a company that does pool makeovers.

"On the Go With Terri O" moves to a new time starting this week. See it at 11 a.m. Saturdays on KTVK-TV (Channel 3).
