Easton Corbin is the first solo country male artist in 17 years to have his first two singles go to the No. 1 spot on Billboard's country singles chart, according to Country Weekly.
You'll hear the hits - "A Little More Country Than That" and "Roll With It" - when the singer, lauded for his traditional country sound and mastery of understatement, performs Thursday near Chandler.
Corbin, who counts George Jones, Merle Haggard, George Strait and Keith Whitley among his musical influences, won 2010 American Country Awards in every "Breakthrough Artist" category, including Artist of the Year, Single of the Year and Music Video for "A Little More Country Than That." In fact, the Florida native tied with hot country supergroup of the moment Lady Antebellum to earn the most nominations (seven).
Corbin also received nominations for Best New Artist and Single and Song of the Year for "A Little More Country Than That" at the 2010 Country Music Association Awards.
