You may never look at Mother Nature quite the same way after seeing her through MOMIX’s lens.
The dance company presents “Botanica” Friday and Saturday in Phoenix, transforming the stage at Orpheum Theater into an ethereal world of nature’s changing imagery.
Choreographed by Moses Pendleton, the show follows the rhythms of the seasons, the changing shape of life on Earth and the passing of day into night. Dancer-illusionists conjure surrealistic images using light, shadow, costumes, props and the athleticism and grace of the human body.
The performance is enhanced by projected images and giant puppetry designed by Michael Curry, production designer for Cirque du Soleil, Disney and the Metropolitan Opera.
The show is made possible by Ballet Arizona and Desert Botanical Garden.
